Clarke’s Design & Construct are Maintaining their High Standards! …

We are coming towards the end of the building works at Lots 1 & 2 Ford Rd Coomera and couldn’t be happier with the results. The client brief was simple, let’s keep this stock high end so our future tenants can have a building that reflects the nature of their businesses.

So, we went about stripping back the original design, increasing the gross floor area and really working on making an entry statement to the precinct. Following on from the Global Footcare building these spaces are sure to create a buzz in the market, given there is no stock available built to these specifications available in the area!

If you would like to know how you get into a building with great access, modern facades, increased shed ceiling heights and a high end feel then please get in contact with us.  Please call 1300 11 25 11. Or visit www.clarkes.net.au

Construct Pouring Concrete

Clarke’s Design & Construct are Managing Your Mud! …

Given we have had a pretty chilly start to winter, we wanted to highlight the importance of managing your concrete batching through the various seasonal changes in order to get the best result.

The best way to achieve a quality finish on a cold or hot day is through admixtures. Accelerators when it is cold and Retarders in the hot weather, this can be dependent on a number of other factors like concrete batching strength or high winds.

Accelerating Admixture – an admixture that causes an increase in the rate of hydration of the hydraulic cement and thus shortens the time of setting, increases the rate of strength development, or both.

Retardant Admixture– Retarding admixtures have little or no effect other than to delay the setting of the cement. They do not plasticise significantly and have no effect on the water demand or other properties of the concrete. Retarding plasticising admixtures not only delay the setting of the cement but are also efficient plasticising water-reducers. Most commercially available retarders are of this type. Retarding plasticisers are used to give workability retention to the concrete, delay the setting time and increase initial workability
